On Aug. 1, 2000, about three months into our 75th year, The News began publishing an extra newspaper edition that uses no paper, no ink, and no press.

“Www.lakewalesnews.com” is The News’ on-line newspaper, accessible at no cost to anyone with Internet access. Included in this on-line edition is only some of the top news, community news and sports articles that appears in the print edition. However, all obituaries are posted online.

As of Dec. 31, 2002, the internet website format changed as The News changed internet site providers. However, the URL address www.lakewalesnews.com remained the same. It is The News’ hope that this format will serve its readers more.
